This is a remodeling job I just completed. The plan was to turn two bedrooms and an old bath into a suite area for my client's eighty-nine year old grandmother. The suite has a larger bedroom connecting to a sitting room. The sitting room connects to a large cedar closet which is divided by a pocket door. The sitting room also connects to the bathroom which can also be accessed from the main hallway. In designing the bathroom space was essential around the water closet, shower and vanity areas. Beautiful 12" x 12" Italian ceramic tiles were used on the bathroom floor and 4" x 4" Italian ceramic tiles were used on the floor, walls, bench, and ceiling of the shower area. We chose a grout color which would tie the shower tiles to the floor tiles. I installed plenty of handles in the shower area to aid in maneuvering around the shower. The vanity matches the wainscoting and has a Corian countertop and splash guards. The sink is square and raised. Two medicine cabinets above the sink are easily accessible and provide plenty of storage for toiletries. The fixtures throughout the bathroom are brushed nickel.
